| Digital Campus |
The leaders of the institute have
attached great importance to the construction of digital campus.
In April 2001, a relative directorate was set up with Professor
Zhang Yawei, secretary of the Party Committee and president
of the institute as its chief director and vice-presidents:
Professor Wu Tiejun, Professor Zhang Xin, Professor Gong Yi
as members. Adopting a creative concept and a new way of thinking,
the directorate drew up an overall program for the building
of digital campus from a strategic height and a general development
perspective.
This project aims at setting up a first-class digital network,
teaching resources, learning environment, administrative methods
and working circumstances, carrying out digital education, scientific
research and management, creating digital living conditions
in order to realize the informationization of the institute.
The construction of the digital campus will proceed in the following
three aspects: the basic net equipment (net hardware), practical
net service system (information system) and virtual campus.
Under a comprehensive blueprint, it will be undertaken by stages
to form the virtual campus. The digital campus framework is

After 2-year construction, the campus network has developed
into high-speed broadband Internet with 1000MHZ, which has connected
every classroom in the institute. In addition, the institute
has constructed several innovative educational pattern and management
system on the basis of teaching net platform, multi-media courseware
development platform, net study support environment, courseware,
data bank and practical advanced net management platform.
Nowadays, network has become an indispensable capital construction
and favorable condition. The construction of digital campus,
by its great success, is awarded Model Project in the University
Digital Campus Construction of Henan Province. |
