Information and Computation Science Major is now
composed of two orientations: Software Orientation and Computational
Mathematics Orientation. It is a four-year undergraduate major, an
integration of information science, computation science and computer
application software.
Software Orientation aims as its major task to equip students with
a rich mathematical knowledge, a firm command of the computer technology
and a good ability in software development. Therefore, the graduates
will be fully prepared for development, study, application and teaching
in software field in scientific and research institutions, colleges
and universities, enterprises and other organizations, etc. It mainly
offers the following courses: mathematical basics, advanced computer
language, database system, data structure, computer network, computer
graphics, algorithm design and analysis, etc.
Computation mathematics aims as its major task to equip students
with a rich mathematical knowledge, a firm command of the basic theories
of information science and computation science, a basic training in
computer skills and scientific research methods and an ability to
apply theory into practice. Therefore, the graduates will be fully
prepared for scientific and research, teaching and management in information
field. It mainly offers the following courses: mathematical basics,
probability and statistics, operations analysis and optimality, mathematical
modeling, digital approximation, numerical algebra, arithmetic solution
of differential equation, information encoding and computer science,
etc.
