¡¡¡¡Department of Informatics and Control Engineering
is one of the oldest and the most competent departments. At present,
it offers three master¡¯s degrees (electrical machinery and electrical
equipment, detection technology and auto equipment, testing metrological
technology and equipment), which are authorized to grant Master¡¯s
Degree of Engineering. Besides, it offers three undergraduate specialties:
automation engineering, electric engineering and automation, electronic
information engineering and two three¡ªyear undergraduate specialties:
applied electronic technology, electronic information science and
technology. It also has one provincial key subject: electrical machinery
and equipment which was assigned by the former State Light Industry
Association and the Education Department of Henan Province.
¡¡¡¡Department of Informatics and Control Engineering has a large contingent
of excellent teachers and researchers, including 46 professional teachers
and researchers, among whom 5 are professors, 21 are associate professors,
4 are studying for doctoral degrees and 25 are masters; and it has
over 1500 students on campus. The department now has 12 modern labs
and one ministerial key lab¡ªelectronic machinery and electronical
equipment lab. The total area of the rooms for experiments and researches
measures over 5000©O.
¡¡¡¡With the right guiding ideology and accurate specialty positioning,
all the specialties in the department have their remarkable features.
The academic programs are designed to strengthen students¡¯ command
of basic theoretical knowledge and sense of engineering, to stimulate
originality, to get them prepared for various career opportunities.
Thus, graduates of this department are warmly welcomed by many companies.
For years, the employment rate of this department has topped the list
in the institute.
¡¡¡¡This department has very strong potential in research and development
of science and technology. The state¡ªsupported ¡° Fuzzy Controlling
Technology Center¡±, ¡°Scientific Research Workshop¡± and the ¡°Institute
of Controlling Engineering¡± have achieved great success. In order
to put their achievements to practice, ¡°Fuzzy Controlling Technology
Center¡± set up an economic entry¡ª¡°Hua Yi Electrical Technology Corporation¡±
which was appraised as Henan¡¯s high and new technology enterprise
by the provincial Science and Technology Department. It has provided
advanced intelligent fuzzy controller for some famous domestic household
appliances enterprises and in return received good economic as well
as social profits.
