¡¡¡¡Since founded in 1981, the College of Continued Education
has always been an important part of ZZILI and always under its direct
and macro leadership. The strong faculty and the excellent teaching
environment ensure the rapid development of the college.
¡¡¡¡In 1989, the college took the education form of the correspondence
college and evening college. In 1993, it established a special administrative
department¡ªAdult Education Center. Now various forms are taken, including
full time, spare time, correspondence college, evening college, etc.
and a schooling system is set up consisting of various levels: high
school course¡ªundergraduate course, 2 to 3 year higher education program--undergraduate
course, professional course¨Cundergraduate course, high school course-professional
course, 3 plus 2, etc. Various training programs are conducted: non-certification
adult education class, self-education tutorial class, specialized
training class and vocational-technical class, etc. And many correspondent
stations are established in Guangdong, Anhui, Guangxi, Hunan, Shanxi,
Jiangxi, Sichuan, Yuannan and Anyang, Nanyang in Henan province, etc.
Adult education is becoming a more and more important means to link
ZZILI with the society. For a decade, the college turned out 12,000
graduates for society.
¡¡¡¡In order to satisfy the needs of the higher education reform in
China, the authorities changed the original adult education center
into the College of Continued Education in May 2001, to take charge
of various forms of schooling: adult education, higher vocational
education, remote education, on-the job postgraduate education, vocational-technical
training, and various kinds of training programs. Currently, the college
is divided into 26 majors, with art design, electronic information
and technology, and business management as its core ones. It has an
enrollment of 2,000.
¡¡¡¡In the long period of schooling, the college, adhering to the socialist
orientation and laying down high standard, manages to study the methods
of adult education and accumulate teaching and management experience.
Therefore, the education quality is enhancing, the management system
is being improved and the social prestige is heightening. Lots of
the graduates, as core members and technical personnel, etc. in their
respective fields, are unanimously welcomed for their overall high
quality. Some won rewards from provincial industrial design contest,
and some furthered their studies by pursuing bachelor¡¯s degree.
¡¡¡¡In 2002, according to the requirements of the overall reform of
ZZILI, The party branch of the college decided to carry out new system
of post competition and put forward the overall guideline of ¡°stressing
on both scale and profits by accumulating resources and under single
management¡±, thus inputting new vigor into the college and leading
it into a new stage of development.
¡¡¡¡In order to cultivate qualified personnel for socialist modernization
and make great contribution to the schooling of ZZILI, The College
of Continued Education is now continuing its strides in teaching,
research and reform. |
