¡¡¡¡Department of Management and Engineering (DME),
has developed into an independent department on the basis of former
Tobacco Cadre-training Class and Special Training Department. Now,
the DME contains 4 undergraduate major programs (business management,
accounting, economics with the orientation toward international commerce
and e-commerce, information management, and information system), and
1 postgraduate program (business management). Additionally, it includes
3 special training programs (e-commerce, foreign tourism, and hotel
administration). In accounting and business management major programs,
the DME also has the right to upgrade college students to study in
university, and entitle them bachelor¡¯s degrees. The DME also enhances
the international cooperation and academic exchanges. The DME and
Australian Wulungon University have started jointly a 2+2 international
education program. With the help of the Continued Education Institute
of ZZILI, the DME has launched various kinds of adult training courses,
and also it will start a double bachelor¡¯s degree in 2004. The DME
has totally 2000 students on campus, making it one of the largest
departments in ZZILI. It has a high-qualified staff of over 50, including
4 professors and 13 associate professors. Professor Wang Wenliang
and professor Peng Shijin have great fame in their own fields of researching.
¡¡¡¡Currently, the DME has one management science research center, one
sale and management consulting company, and one library with over
10,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals and books. The managerial experiment
center has developed into a multi-function center, which provides
a good experiment for situational education, case education, on-line
education and multi-media education. The DME plans to improve the
working circumstances for DME¡¯s further development.
¡¡¡¡Since 1983, more than 3000 students have graduated from the DME,
most of whom have gained the credits for their outstanding achievements.
The passing rates of CET-4, CET-6 and computer certification exam
are in the leading position in the whole Institute. In recent years,
teachers in DME have finished more than 40 research projects and published
400 academic theses at provincial level. With the development of the
scientific researches, DME also pays attention to the social services,
it has provided training courses, market investigations, managerial
consultations, and business planning for over 100 enterprises and
gained social and economical benefits.
