The department has a vigorous contingent of teachers
with rational knowledge and age frame. There are 31 faculties and
staff, including four administrators and assistants and twenty-seven
professional teachers, among whom nine are professors and associate
professors, three are doctors and eighteen are masters. Of all the
teachers, three are excellent teacher of Henan Province; ten take
positions in state or provincial academic research organizations.
In the conformity with the principle of ¡°developing the department
by quality¡±, the students group with stable professional thoughts
and high morale of study is gradually formed through strengthening
management of students¡¯ daily life and studies and enhancing the ideological
work of students¡¯. Since 2002, the passing rates of CET-4, CET-6 and
national computer level test (90%) have exceeded the average numbers
of all the universities. While emphasizing the studies of the students,
the department actively guides the students to take part in all kinds
of social practices and activities held by the many associations of
the institute. In the light of the special features of this major,
all kinds of activities are carried out concerning the professional
culture, physical and community service, such as human lectures, academic
salons, mock courts, social surveys, etc. All these activities help
to create a thick humanistic atmosphere for students to improve their
comprehensive qualities and complete the knowledge frame. And they
turned out to be a great success. For example, some students were
granted provincial Excellent Person in Social Work in the summer practices
of 2002, others were awarded first and second prizes in the ¡°Challenge
Cup¡± Scientific and Technological Works Contest for College Students.
The department was given prizes frequently in the Singing Contest
in honor of the ¡°12.9 Movement¡±. Meanwhile, the sports activities
become common practice among the students. In the 20th Track and Field
Sports Meeting, the department gained the team title and that of the
men¡¯s. |
